I want better battery life!

Most gaming laptops have around 7000-8500mAh 8 or 9 cell battery. The 3800mAh for the Vortex II 17.3 inch laptop isn't enough. Even if I ordered a spare battery I still can't game around for several hours when mobile.

I don't mind lugging around a larger lithium battery. Just bring that 12 cell battery so I can game for 5hrs non-stop!

you could try gamebooster, it disables unnecessary services, leaving more free RAM which requires less power, although difference will probably be seconds

Wouldnt the chassis itself determine that size battery available? Just not sure how a larger/longer life one could fit in if it isnt in there already.

A gaming laptop with a long battery life is a bit of an oxymoron. Doesn't exist. The entire thing is a trade-off - more power, less battery life; less power, more battery life.

An option is to go for a smaller laptop eg 15", low res, low consumption components but you won't be able to play modern games.

Depends where the battery is, on lenovo laptops the battery slots int he back so larger batteries that extend out the back are available. But either way as DED said, big rucksack is the way forward lol

There is actually a laptop on the market with a 540M that lasts 9 hours; not going to mention the model name here.

If anyone was wondering, I recently asked Clevo UK if they supplied a 9-cell battery for the 15.6" Optimus II (W150HRM); and they don't.

We will, at some point, be getting more powerful batteries into stock.

Obviously I wouldn't be playing 3D graphics intensive games on battery but I would like to be able to play some older games, like Total Annihilation when using the battery.

And who said gaming laptops can't have long battery life? Just adjust graphics card settings to low and get a bigger battery.

It really sucks you have to go to standby mode just to swap battery and switch laptop back on.

I definetly cant wait to get rid of my laptop, i just hate them, yes i admit it its a bit more convenient as i like to lay on my bed with it on my lap but i just dont like it anymore and i dont see why they are so popular when most people probably dont even move around with it

I will probably avoid laptops at every cost anyway and will try to stick to a desktop, id rather use a tablet like im on now than a laptop
