So a few months ago i ordered a pc and i got it and have loved it alot over the past months
Today i update windows 8 to windows 8.1 and it started making everything weird and i couldnt open stuff like nvidia geforce experience and my games were lagging and under performing.

Anyway i did a clean install of windows 8 and i lost all my stuff which is fine, i knew i would and thats not the problem,
I lost everything that was installed on the pc when i first got it from pcs

Also now the pc wont recognise my razer mouse/keyboard, my headset, my benq monitor and it wont recognise my internet connection.

Its really bummed me out

Any help?

After you reinstalled Windows 8 did you also install all the drivers on the disk that PCS sent you? If not then do so now. The drivers are required to enable your hardware devices to work with Windows 8.

Was i supposed to install the drivers only for the mobo ?

I stalled everything on the disc both drivers and utilities and it has installed so much stuff

Like atleast 15 new desktop icons i didnt have last time

There should be a category on the disk for drivers and a category for Utilities. The drivers are what you need, the Utilities are optional although if I recall correctly you can select a 'Recommended install' which only installs 3 or 4 Utilities that they feel are important to get the full potential out of your mobo.

Install your drivers through Device Manager by pointing the installer towards the disc. If you have any leftover Warning.png then run the motherboard disc and choose custom install, that will scan your system and highlight any drivers that are missing. You can easily uninstall the 'crap' through Device Manager.

Thank you, do you know if its possible to delete desktop icons on windows 8 without uninstalling items if that makes sense

Not sure what has happened but it is seriously under performing right now,
Like im not trying to brag but the pc i got was expensive with all of the latest parts and it was super quick

Since i messed up its gone so slow :(

I know it might sound stupid but is there any way i could send it back to pcs to help ?
Obviously i would pay for any expenses involved
Or i got the top platinum warranty if that covers anything like this

Hi there ,could you post the exact specs of the system please ? - im sure it can all be sorted out without sending it back , im not sure thats an option anyway as the issue seems to be software related & not a hardware issue (i could be wrong though)

& what exactly has gone slow , internet speeds ? gaming performance ? , loading of windows etc ?

Is there any constant hard drive hammering at all ? - HDD light solidly lit for extended periods of time when not even doing anything with the pc , just sitting on the desktop for example ?

Just do the following...
- re-install everything from scratch (since you lost everything anyway, no harm done now)
- install Windows 8 first (format drive, don't install as upgrade or anything silly like that, just perform full clean installation) - (restart)
- once installed, put motherboard cd disc and install most of the stuff from there - (restart)
- go to either to AMD or Nvidia website (depending on your card) and download/install latest graphic drivers for your card - (restart)
- if you get any cd disc with mouse/keyboard you may want to install those drivers too
- that should be it,
- should not take more than 60-90 mins

If your PC was fine and you just messed it up with Windows upgrade thing... then your hardware is fine it's just some software issue. Give it a go.
If not, you can always bribe a more geeky friend with some beer tokens and ask him to help you.

Hope you get it fixed soon so you can enjoy games :)
