How to overclock?

Hello

My laptop has an Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4710MQ (2.50GHz) 6MB

On intel's website the processor is capable of being overclocked up to 3.5GHz.
Would this be advisable or lead to instability and overheating?
If it is advisable how do you go about the overclocking process?

The bios locks the possibility of overclocking your CPU but you could get around it however the chassis is not designed for overclocking the CPU or gpu, it could lead to instability issues and you void your warranty.

as a side note, with keynes already saying what you wanted to know, that 3.5GHz is only when using 1 core, if i remember right when using 2 cores it goes down to 3.2GHz and when using 3 or more cores the turbo goes up to only 3.1GHz
