How to modify mic and system sounds seperately.

Hi, I record and need to edit the volume of the sound from my PC in game and the sound from my mic separately.
Is there any easy way to do this?
I'm currently using a "ghetto" set-up with two headsets. One for the sound and one for the mic which I am planning on replacing soon with a high end mic.

Easiest way is probably to purchase an audio interface like the UX1 that supports multiple audio streams.That way you can edit each of the streams and control the volume levels individually.
