How often are laptop chassis updated?

I've been wanting to buy a vortex 4 elite se for a while so I've been watching videos of people reviewing the laptop and I've noticed that the vortex 4 elite se/p375sm has been around for a while. How often do these chassis tend to get updated?

I think they only get changed when clevo release new chassis, this is because PCS use clevo chassis for their laptops. No clue if there's anything new on the horizon though unfortunately :(

You can probably expect an updated chassis around the time new CPU's are launched. They more often that not need an updated board so the manufacturers use that as a nice chance to refresh the chassis and overall design. I think the next batch of intel CPU's are due Q4 this year, thats just a guess at the moment as nobody but intel knows that info.

Overall I wouldn't worry too much about getting it because they're is always something new coming out just over the horizon, that's my thinking anyway. Whats your concern about buying a slightly older chassis anyway, is it just the performance? if so then the performance delta is likely to be fairly small.

I think they're being produced from Q4 2014 and being sold in Q1 2015, but I could be wrong. And as you say the current one should be fine and there's always something new coming out. I won't wait unless It'll be a massive improvement/fall in price or is coming out within a month :)

Only thing I would like to be updated is the screen, perhaps to a slightly higher resolution or refresh rate. I find it strange that this model comes with dual graphics cards that are capable of playing intensive games at very high fps on ultra but only offer a 1080p 60hz display :p

However I do agree with what you are saying, I'm forever buying new tech and thinking about what the next model might be.

There's not much point having a higher resolution screen, it will mean having to play games using lower settings. Also, for a 17 or 15 inch laptop there isn't much point getting a high resolution display, plus it'll make the battery life worse.
