How come I can't change my username?

I was given this username when I registered - I had no opportunity to change it.

but... people who joined in the weeks before and after me have not all had usernames auto-generated by their name like I have - and I want to change mine

I'm afraid you will need to talk to PCSoecialist to change it, as usernames can only be changed by admin users (ie. normal users and mods do have the ability to do so).
