How a positive PCS experience plays out.....

I thought it would be nice to give a quick rundown of my experience with PCS:

I ordered Jan 29th and at that point the estimated build time was 21-23 working days - which would March 2nd. Pre-production started on Feb 5th.

Every 5 calendar days I received an email with a new estimated build time. The first was Feb 22nd which was great, then it moved to Feb 18th, then the third email said it was back out to the 22nd.

It actually went into building on Feb 15th, tested on 16th and dispatched on the 17th. It then took two days to reach me here in Ireland.

It arrived relatively well packed. I was surprised though that the box was a good bit bigger than the PC - so while the PC itself was held by foam packing on either end, it was able to move about as a whole unit within the box. However, not a mark was on it when it was all unwrapped. Welcome pack had all my manuals and spare PSU leads and spare screws and bolts all neatly packed.

The internal foam packing within the case works great I must say. It is actually quite hard to remove and needs some care - which shows how well it holds everything in place during transport. I removed it all, checked all compenents and everything was fine. Cable managenment is outstanding. There is no chance on earth that I could have done such a neat and tidy job of it myself.

A weedy little build mine, that won't win awards or shock any visitors - 5600x, GTX 1650, 32 GB RAM. Lots of PCS branded parts that will make other blush and look away, but it's great for me!

Connected evetrything up, turned on and all was well. Straight to Windows with a screen saying it was a test install only. A full clean install of Windows 10 then, followed by lots of tea with Windows update ad nauseum, then off for the hunt for any straggling drivers. iCue and ASUS AI Suite 3 installed and full control of my RGB and fan speeds sorted - bar one.

I added two fans to the build - not that I really needed them - but there isn't enough Fan Headers to go around so the one in the roof was installed in the CPU_OPT header - which shares it's control with the CPU_FAN which is set to PWM - which means a 3 pin fan plugged in just runs at full speed. So I've taken it out for now to keep the noise down. I'll either leave it out as it's not really needed anyway, or I'll replace with a PWM fan or use a y-splitter to add it to one of the other 3 pin controls. I'll see.....

So overall - I could not possibly be happier. I had tried to control my expectation on timeframes but every aspect of the experience for me was better than expected. The Comms with PCS were great - even if they were mostly automated - but I did put two questions to them during the build via my online account and got answers promptly.

It is my firm belief that stories and experiences like mine are the routine with PCS. I could not fault anything really and I will without doubt be returning for my next machine from here also.

So I say Bravo PCS! Thanks for a super hassle free experience and a lovely new PC!!! :) :) :)

I'm still feeling inadequate over my short little GPU. No, that isn't a euphemism, however accurate it might be!

However Assetto Corsa now running at 130+ FPS on full quality - compared to 20 perhaps previously - so who cares!! :ROFLMAO::D

It's like on consoles and TV's and stuff, the original models are quite large and cumbersome, then a year or so later once they're used to the tech, they fully redesign it and release a slim version.

The shorter cards are a result of a complete rework of the PCB, and they tend to be a lot more efficient.

This looks amazing and I'm very happy to hear of the positive experience! It's a relief to see it off the floor, and the cables are impecable! I also love the look of the PCS cooler, I just wished they performed a little better so I could have one on my machine 😂 Enjoy it as I'm sure you will!

Thanks Junior. I do like the full black and silver look of everything I must say. For my usage case the cooler is grand - no OC for me - but pushing a few heavy duty Lightroom and Photshop tests through the system earlier (about 5 consectutive tests at 2 mins each) saw max package temps settle around 69 degrees with 100% CPU load and a 75W draw - which about as much as the 5600X will use non OC.

That won't win any awards by any means - but it's perfectly fine with me.....

Yeah 100% CPU usage and 69 degrees is a very decent temp, sounds like a great build, you'll be able to photoshop until you heart is content!

@AgentCooper - I'm disappinted in you - that was in my original photo a week or two ago also!! :ROFLMAO:

It'll be gone tomorrow actually - that's an ethernet cable from my power line extender - but the AX200 wifi card is giving me better speeds now that I have 5GHz....
Just kidding, you’ve still got a fantastic little setup there and I’m really glad you’re happy with your system. I love a happy ending 👍

And with that in mind it must be said:

A big thank you to all of you here. My build is not perfect and has it's flaws, but it still a far cry from my first attempt (6 Order Amendments are testament to that!) all thanks to the advice received here.
