Hi,

Ive got a Optimus 13.3" Laptop (Clevo W230ST) and have found that the HotKey Software has started to crash. it appears to be after a recent Windows Update (running 8.1 pro).

Ive been unable to get it working again, ive done a fresh install, installed HotKey, works ok. Then update and it breaks again.

Got the following in the event logs.

Im using HotKey 8.0153 (according to Programs and Features).

Yes, the version im using is the latest for the W230ST on the Clevo site. Ive even tried the W230SS software but its completely different and crashes immediately.

I usually only get that error if I disabled my WLAN card. If my WLAN card is disabled or driver not installed, my hotkey won't open and crashes with a similar error. That program is really made of plastic, lol.

EDIT: Yeah, check your WLAN and Bluetooth drivers. Make sure they are enabled and working.

I won't even be using it in W10, I won't even be losing much functionality as W10 has most of the controls at easy reach.

I'm currently using Hotkey 8.0101 (latest Win8 version from Clevo website) in Windows 10 on PCSpecialist P150EM.

I use it so I can turn off the backlit keyboard which would otherwise be on by default. I don't know if there is another way to disable it, short of unplugging a wire somewhere.

The software features work, but Hotkey seems to disappear occasionally (disappears from the taskbar, maybe broken by windows updates?) and I have to reinstall Hotkey.
The bluetooth LED light on the laptop stays lit whether bluetooth is on or off (or even with bluetooth device disabled), I hope maybe a future Hotkey version will address this.
