Hi all, been doing a fair amount of reading on these forums (very helpful by the way) and been playing around with different specs for a while now, Haven't made my mind up for my new rig yet!, however I need to order my father in-law a new home office desktop at the same time as mine.

Just a few questions...

With the motherboards that support USB 3.0, do i need to change the USB options further down to ensure the build comes with USB 3.0 ports or will the 2 front ports be the USB 3.0 ones?

Would it be worth paying the little bit extra for the llyama 22" monitor or are the normal tft ones pretty decent?

How does the system below stack up? Is it a well balanced system? it will be for genral use i.e excel, outlook, normal web browsing however he is also into his photography, but basic editing in photoshop will be about as strenous as it gets for this PC.

Is the onboard audio fairly decent? He has an epic music collection and likes to have it blaring out whilst working.

Budget is strictly £1200

Thanks in advance

USB 3.0 motherboards will have at least two USB3.0 ports at the back of the computer regardless of which USB option you choose. I'm not sure what the normal TFT monitors are like but if photo/video editing is a priority then the Iiyama monitor would be a good choice.

The i5-655k is a CPU designed for overclockers change it to the i5-650 instead, everything else looks ok. The onboard sound is fine but if music is very important to him then a dedicated sound card would be a good idea.
