Hi! Questions about Enigma II

Hey all, I'm looking to order the Enigma II laptop with 1st gen i5 cpu, ATI 5650 1gb, 500gb 7200rpm, 4gb 1333 ram.

Questions are: 1) How's the heat distribution on this laptop and does it get hot (uncomfortably hot)?
2) How's the battery life for casual browsing?
3) Is the build quality decent?
4) If anyone has similar specs, how is it? :D

Hey,

1) The cooling on this laptop is pretty good for use on a desk or on your lap. I wouldn't however advise to use the laptop in bed as it will soon overheat due to lack of air circulation (blocked vents).
2) Battery life is good, will last a few hours for browsing web & dvd etc. If you start to play games though the battery life will drop but not excessively.

1. Heat distribution is primarily on the left-hand side, extremely good exhaust there. The laptop stays very cool most of the time, a few games I play warm it up, notably Dragon Age 2 but never so much that it has stability issues. Warm spots are on chassis left of keyboard and on chassis below keyboard, roughly below the "V" key. It does get 'warm' but never uncomfortably hot and only under very heavy load.
2. Battery life for casual browsing is approx 2.5 hrs, maybe 3, depends on the websites (i.e. a lot of Flash animations etc are more processor intensive). You'll get about 1.5-2hrs for a DVD and about 1hr for a blu-ray.
3. Build quality is solid, it feels sturdy, I'd give it a 7/10 :)
4. I've got the i7-720QM processor & 8Gb RAM so not VERY similar spec but regardless, I've been very impressed with it's performance. There are no games I've tried thus far I can't play albeit at lower settings on some.

thanks guys, just another question.. is the Enigma III worth the wait? although I don't know when the ETA is haha. I would be happy to wait for the III if it comes in the next few weeks.
