Hi! Can anyone tell me if the personal finance option performs a soft or a hard search initially?

I want to see if I will be accepted for the personal finance option, however I am concerned it will affect my credit score if rejected.

You'll have to contact PCS to confirm.

But in my experience if you apply for credit its generally a hard Search. Could be a soft search to start with, followed by a hard search.

On Hitachi's website they say this for there loans. I'd imagine its the same for their credit plans with sites like PCS but you'll have to check with them or PCS to confirm

Simply complete the form below to see your likelihood of being accepted for a Hitachi Personal Finance loan. Checking your eligibility will place a soft search (i.e. a pre-application check of your credit file) on your credit record which only you, we and the credit reference agency can see and will not affect your ability to obtain credit in the future.

I believe you will be told during the process before you click proceed as to whether or not the check is soft / hard so you can then choose not to click proceed.

If in doubt you have to speak to PCS directly.
