Here's my order

Been waiting 18 months for a new rig (you know how it is, money gets spent on other things, and stuff)just before Xmas last year,(sounds strange as it was just a few weeks ago) had a little scratch card win, enough for a great Xmas, weekend away with the Mrs, and a beast of a gaming rig unk:
So, I put in this order two days ago

What I found most strange about my order, and being a gaming rig was this: Nowhere in the PC Gaming configurator when ordering two EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080 in SLI are you offered the EVGA PRO SLI BRIDGE HB (Picture below)I did query this with PCS the answer I got was
"The bridge we supply is just a standard SLI bridge, If you would like a gaming bridge, sadly we do not stock them, I would advise purchasing one from e-buyer or amazon if you are happy to fit the bridge yourself?

I don't mind paying for the gaming bridge, or even fitting this myself. It's just that it's not mentioned anywhere, or even offered up as an add-on or an alternative to the standard SLI bridge, the EVGA Pro SLI Bridge HB, not only looks good, (you can change the colour, so matching your rig)but can improve bandwidth in SLI when together with GTX 1080/1070. Also you pay a lot of money for a great gaming spec, not to be offered the best gaming SLI bridge...Poor show really :nono: :whistling:

If it is mainly for gaming you could go down to 16gb ram and a standard ssd would be significantly cheaper than the intel PCIe SSD

The Samsung m2 is much faster than the Intel, plus Hybrid drives are something of nothing, a WD 7200rpm drive would be better for the HDD.

I think I got myself a little confused with SSD's M2's and HHD, as what works well together, and would be best...It's been like six years since my last PCS build I'm more of a player than a computer geek Is having PCIe SSD quicker than a standard SSD? Would I even know the difference? 32gb ram, is I know a bit/or a lot OTT....It's kinda like, I have this money and want to spent it and to make it worse the Mrs is being very supportive, which takes a hell of getting used to lol!

PCIe ssd's are sort of unnecessary now M2 drives are really stealing the limelight. M2 drives are faster than PCIe anyway and smaller, and don't take up that crucial PCIe lane.

There is no game on the planet that currently takes up more than 12gb. 16gb is the general rule of thumb for gaming, 8 if on a budget, but 32 is literally throwing money down the drain as it will never be used.

If you do not already have a decent back up external drive I would put the money saved by gong for 16GB RAM towards that. I doubt you will ever need it but f something came along that required more RAM it is a really simple upgrade.

Thanks for your great advice guy's ....I'm changing it to 16gb ram...Taking out the PCIe SSD....Should I get a bigger M2 Drive? Or is 1TB more than enough?

1TB s easily enough for the m2, if you want more storage i would go for a couple of WD 7200rpm drives.

Rather than start a new thread, my PC order (in first post)I understand will arrive on a pallet? Will this be left outside for me to bring inside my house? Being disabled I would not be able to bring this inside or lift it at all...What about the warranty? I have bought the 3 Year Platinum Warranty (3 Year Collect & Return, 3 Year Parts, 3 Year labour)would I need to keep the pallet for returning the PC?.... I need someone to explain to me how this will work, I'm getting worried, or please point me to a place here that would answer my questions. Thank you

Your order will only be delivered if there is someone there to receive it, my experience of DPD drivers (not just with PCS orders) is that they are very helpful. I am slightly disabled, need one crutch, sometimes two, to get about and orders have always been put inside the house where I asked them to be put. As far as possible returns go you would need to contact PCS direct, they do not always look at these fora. Telephone is the best as emails can take a few days to be answered, depending on how busy they are.

Thanks Stephen M, I don't know to much about DPD, I have had deliveries from them in the past, not this big or weight though, thinking on what you said about phoning PCS, that's probably the best option, and maybe DPD will have two guys working

I would just like to say a BIG thank you to PCS, not only have I had my PC over a week now and so much enjoying it, Thank you guy's AND I had an EVGA PRO SLI BRIDGE already installed:tt1: So, my little moan above is cancelled out and taken back...Well done and thank you again
