What games / kinds of games does your son play? Open world adventure type titles like Assassin's Creed? or more PvP shooters like Fortnite, CS:GO, etc?

Is the monitor is very recent acquisition?

Does your son stream their gameplay or do you think they might? i.e. broadcasting their gameplay on platforms like Twitch, Youtube, etc?

If your son is inexpirienced as well as you, I am guessing you don't plan to overclock the CPU I suggest you get a normal CPU ( without the K , e.g 9700 ).
If you can squeeze it in the budget get a RTX 2060 or RTX 2070 preferably.
Change the watercooler to air cooling solution like Noctua or something cheaper if you don't plan to overclock.

Initially they will be PvP shooters, all Fortnite being the game which he requires the PC for!! The monitor was purchased within the last 6 months as previously was using a JVC TV for playing console.

There is no intention currently to stream gameplay.
