Hi,
I am configuring my custom desktop on the site. I have basic understanding of computers and still finding selecting the appropriate items difficult.
What I require
dual screen
Mostly just surf the internet, watch youtube etc
gaming (Games like h1z1, csgo)
Multi tasking (1 screen gaming while other screen on internet or 1 screen watching video and one screen on internet)
Questions
1. From my description above is 8gb ram more than enough? This seems to be the standard amount nowadays. Is this too much for what I need or do I need to pay for more?
2. I am unsure about graphics cards. Is it simple enough to assume the higher gb the better the card? What size would be the minimum you would recommend?
3. I am clueless about motherboards. I do not have the slightest idea which would be the best option and the benefits of selecting a more expensive one or the cheapest one.
4. I am unsure on CPU. Again is it correct to assume i7 is better/newer than i5. Would I be better paying slightly less for a good i5 than an i7?
5. Processer cooling. I have no understanding on the benefit of this. Do I need pay for this or will the standard cooler do the job?
I would like an intel machine. Someone told me I should get kaby lake but I do not really understand what that is or the benefits.
I would like a balance between good value for money and a build that will last me a long time without having to upgrade.
Thanks in advance
Steven
