Help with a new Desktop PC

Hi, finally getting round to ordering my new PC, I have a budget of around £1050. I'm a keen photographer and the PC would be used for Lightroom and Photoshop, no video editing. What spec could anyone from the forum recommend. Do I go for the new Ryzen 1600X processor or the I5 7600.

Hi and thanks for the spec, pushes me out of budget as I need at least a 1TB 2nd hard drive and an optical reader

For photoshop I believe an i5 would be pretty much as good as an i7. No idea about Lightroom.

Alternatively you could drop the SSD and add one as a future upgrade. Though that would be something you'd want to do quite soon since Photoshop does benefit a lot from an SSD.

Bringing down from an I7 to an I5 looks a good solution. I currently use an SSD on my aging PC and wouldn't want to turn the "clock back". Thanks for your advice.
