So im looking around and i see most people suggest going with benq, which of the benq range would be the best ?

I know i need 5ms or lower and possibly 120mhz (not sure what it means)
Other than that im lost

Thanks

What spec do you have? No point in getting a 120hz screen if your GPU can't push that many frames. If you're looking at the Benq's then the XL2411T would be your best bet. The XL2420T is a brilliant monitor which makes changing settings much easier plus it looks a bit better in appearance but the XL2411T is newer and has improved on some ghosting issues, etc.

I use a GTX670 on a XL2411T and I don't really experience full 144hz smoothness most the times as I can't push that many frames in a lot of new games. I play alot of games at around 60fps and really there's not a lot of difference; only time I've really noticed is when playing BF3 online with some settings turned down/off I can get around 120fps and my cursor tracks targets much much better than I used to. It is extremely smooth but whether it's worth the extra cash is a different story.

I personally believe a lot of people make 120hz sound much better than it actually is to justify spending the extra money. Yes it is very smooth, and yes in online play it is noticeably smoother and more reactive, but I've played games at 40fps before and it's still absolutely fine and really 120hz was developed for 3D gaming, it wasn't really designed to be used in 2D. Remember, 120hz will not make a game look better, it will just make it feel better. The level of detail is still likely to be identical to a 60hz equivalent monitor.

Let us know what spec you've got anyway :) It may be worth going for an ips monitor for better colours and viewing angles if you're not going to be pushing 120fps+ in most games. I haven't looked at monitors in a good while but 6 months ago or so when I was looking the Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM was a strong gaming IPS candidate. Brilliant colours and detail and although the spec quotes 8ms response time, the actual input lag time was 0.6ms which was noticeably quicker than a lot of TN panels and the 8ms response time could be improved by using their gaming mode which eliminated a lot of ghosting. The U2312 was about £160 when I was looking but it may be that there are better panels out there now.
