Headset

I'm looking for a really nice headset I can use with my PS3 and my Vortex II laptop. I'm hoping that because the Vortex has an optic jack this should be straightforward. Any suggestions?

I keep looking at those and the ax720's at the moment. Is the connection with the optical pretty easy and providing 5.1 on console and pc?

cant speak for the ps3, but pc its pretty easy, can be a pain if you have x-fi titanium as I did (stupid creative never did the drivers right for the optical output, so the card wouldn't decode in 5.1 even though it should do)

I jumped back to onboard sound which is actually better for the trittons, well it was in my case.

there's so many options for gaming headsets, tough choice.

oh god the decisions. The Ax Pros look like they have less faff going on the DSP bit.

They are a bit of a pain to setup if you have a pain of a soundcard, but if not you wont have a problem at all. I've just reinstalled my OS today and not had to do anything with my trittons and they are working perfectly.
