I use my Optimus V connected to my TV to play games but whenever I plug in the HDMI cable more often than not the sound is still output to the laptop's speakers. Sometimes in the sound panel my TV shows up but even then whether it is selected already or if I switch the default to the laptop and then back again still no sounds comes from the TV. Occasionally if I connect the laptop to the TV whilst music is playing the sound automatically starts coming out of the TV but this doesn't happen very often. MOst of the time I end up having to reboot the laptop with the HDMI cable connected.
