Hey, well i just got off the phone from pcs and was told it could be a few days till they get their gtx 680's back, but i was told i could either wait, downgrade or upgrade. To upgrade its to the 4gb GTX 680 and spend another £51 or downgrade to the GTX 670 and save like £100+. what you think would be the better choice??

I upgraded, but only because I use two monitors and occasionally a TV. The 670 is cheaper, nearly as good and will be fine for pretty much everything though so stick with that probably
After seeing the reviews for the 670 I have to say I've been tempted to go for that instead of the 680 I ordered, particularly in light of the supply problems. Got an email on Thursday though to say my PC had been built (with a 680 in it i assume) so i think I'll stick with what I've got. The 680 is still the better card, it's just the difference is much smaller than people anticipated.
One has to wonder what Nvidia's strategy is. The 670 will no doubt sell very well, but 680 sales are likely to drop off a cliff.

Just to clear up one point. The physical size of the TV/Monitor hs nothing to do with how much VRAM you need, what counts is the resolution. A 60" TV running at 1080p requires the same VRAM as a 22" monitor running at 1080p, it's only if your running a really high end monitor, or 2-3 x 1080p monitors in surround that you need the extra VRAM to run them when gaming.
The 670 is a total no brainer, minimal performance drop and much cheaper.
