I am soon going to be purchasing a vortex laptop from here and with the next generation of games coming i wondered if the gtx675mx will be able to play games that will be on the ps4 on high details basically so i dont have to buy a ps4 when it comes out. I dont want to waste a lot of money on a laptop that is going to be insufficient to play the latest games in a years time. Your thoughts would be appreciated thanks

Depends on the game and the settings you wish to play. For current games you could check online benchmarks, for future games on high settings I don't think anyone can tell you how future proof it is.

ill be honest here but I have a 680m which even that is starting to prefer low to medium settings on the latest games like crysis 3 and tomb raider. Sin city struggles at 30 fps.

I don't know much about the MX range as I assumed they were just overclocked versions of their namesake. Im guessing the 680 is a bit of a price jump from the 675. And for good reason , don't get me wrong the 680 is a beast of a notebook solution. I can play all games fine on it. Just don't set your expectations for DX11 titles at very high settings. I fear the 675mx will be fine for most dx9 games but when you want to play something new come the end of the year you will notice it.

The Tomb Raider issue is just a driver issue - you'll be able to play it at max settings soon - and the Crysis issue is just that..... it's Crysis :)

AMD mentioning that they aren't going to be updating their high end graphics line-up until 2014, and that means nVidia are going to try to milk out as much out of their current line up too, so no upgrades from them either. This means that this is a perfect time to get a high-end card, as it'll stay at the top for a long long time.

I cant see the 680 playing tombraider on ultimate with tress fx ever mate tbh. The 780m is imminent will be aroun 18% faster than the 680m.
