Defiance II laptop review
Bought this laptop to replace my previous outdated machine. Had a budget of £1500 and to be honest I'm happy with how I spent it.
I ordered it on fast track (5 days), sorry for delaying everyone else as i jumped the queue, but this was actually shipped by the 4th working day so I got my moneys worth and a bit more haha.. I chose this because some people waited 3weeks to a month for orders and im a little kid in a sweet shop once I get excited about something.
I cant fault the laptop in any way except 3 things.
The power cable input location is at the back, not a huge problem for most people, but when I'm lying down its awkward to put in and take out
The second is that there is no disk drive, again not a huge issue as an external drive is cheap and most games etc. are all downloads these days, but for those times when a disc is needed it would be rather nice to have
The third is the speakers (on my one) have that annoying distortion with the vibration at high frequencies, which Is a bummer as i enjoy my music.
Apart from that it looks sleek, the brushed black texture is always nice, decent weight and doesnt feel flimsy. A nice solid piece of kit that likes to gather fingerprints.
The screen is superb in my opinion as others say its a little dark, but once you get used to it, it's not a problem.
It is lightning fast, i recommend having an SSD for a primary drive. And actually has a battery that lasts quite a while, I haven't timed it but after playing a couple of levels on tomb raider it was still going.
All in all 9/10 despite my bad points, definitely buy one if you are looking for a portable computer
Defiance II 17.3"
i7 6820HQ 2.7GHz
24GB ram
Nvidia GTX 970m
500GB SSD
1TB HDD
