Graphics card for resolution

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew what graphic's card would be best for my monitor that has a resolution of just 1680 x 1050, for playing games like Shogun: Total War 2

I was thinking of the 2GB AMD RADEON™ HD6950 or 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 Ti.

I will be getting a monitor some time in the future so I might have to future proof a bit.

Either are a fine choice and will play most games out now at upto 1920 x 1080.

I prefer the Nvidia.
