OK just been pricing up a new computer.Difference between a HD6990 and HD6970 is £291. Surely playing the latest games would not be able to tell difference. I have a 4870 at present and plays all my games. Problem is does not support DX11, which games are now using. So question is should I keep the £291 in my pocket?

If your going to stick with the AMD cards i would go for the 6970 which is single gpu the 6990 is a dual and i do not think you will notice much if any difference and if you want a dual card set up at a later date if it ever starts to struggle you could go crossfire then.
