Just yesterday, I've experienced my first major problem with the machine. After running Watch_Dogs for a few hours, the fans suddenly stopped cooling the GPU (according to MSI Afterburner) and the GPU temps reached 103 degrees celsius! Thankfully, the card still functions (ie. not fried) but the cooling fans on the Palit GTX 680 are not working to cool the thing down anymore! I would also like to mention that I had set a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner but I'm almost sure that wouldn't be the cause for the fans failing. I'm just wondering what the best course of action would be to take now to rectify
Any feedback is greatly appreciated,

First step I'd take is to restore the factory settings for the graphics card (ie fan profile) see if that brings the fans back online.

I've no idea, I've never used MSI afterburner... but I would check there first maybe? You might be able to turn it back to factory settings using that software.

If your fan profile in MSI Afterburner runs all the time you must have checked the 'Load profile settings at startup' option. You'd need to turn that off. I'll be home soon so I'll have a look where it is and post a screenshot.

To clarify, I only enable the fan profile in MSI Afterburner when running demanding games so that the card doesn't get too hot so it's not always enabled - i enable it manually each time.
To re-iterate the problem, my GPU is not getting cooled at all by the fans when the card starts heating up. Everything runs fine but the temperature will keep rising and I would guess that this will result in crashes and overheating. It's as if the Watch_Dogs play session stressed the fans so much that now they won't work at all :(

Hi Boozad, no I haven't yet, will do after work.
I assume that they're not moving since i didn't hear the usual fan noise coming from my system when playing games. Obviously, there is a chance that they're moving slightly but I'll let you know in a few hours

Yup, fans not moving one bit while the machine is running. Proceeding to take it out and cleaning + making sure it's hooked up okay (wish me luck!)

Damnit!

Managed to remove the card from the slot and clean the card pretty well - wasn't that badly dusty to be honest. Put the card back in and ensured that the 8 and 6 pin power cables went in securely. Booted PC and fans are still just not spinning at all. Played Diablo 3 for a few mins and it reached 80 degrees celsius+ pretty fast so I closed that down. Not sure what to do now, do you guys think I can RMA the card and if so, who do I contact?
