Got my desktop yesterday but think I have the wrong ram?

I received my desktop yesterday and for the most part, very pleased.

However, I ordered the following RAM:
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (4 x 4GB KIT)

But when I look in the bios, it says it's running at 1333MHz.

Could it be they've put the wrong ram in, or is it something that might need configuring at the higher speed?

I got the 8Gb RAM kit of the same make. My BIOS said the same thing, but I managed to change it.
But still Win7 will only say 4Gb is usable...

Hi Medatech, can you shut the PC down, start the PC and tap delete to go into the BIOS, once in the BIOS, go to Advanced Mode at the top right, once in advanced mode, go to Ai Tweaker, and change the ai Overclock Tuner to XMP Mode, once changed, press F10 and go to Save and Exit, this should get it to 1600MHz for you, apologies it wasnt done previously.

Thanks a lot Jak! I followed your instructions and hey presto, 1600MHz.

After having wait over a month for this computer, I can say it was worth it. The build quality is fantastic and it is quick!, very quick. It's so refreshing to order a computer from a company that is exactly what you want, and no unwanted third party software embedded into the OS.

Awesome work PCS, awesome work!

I noticed you installed your own RAM, you might want to just check which slots you have got it in, let us know which ones they are in and we'll check it for you.

Do you have the 64 bit version of windows? If you only have the 32 bit then the max you will see is 4GB i think.

If you have installed the RAM yourself as jak says have you checked it's properly seated?
