Google chrome is really slow

Hi, Google chrome has recently become really slow and I have no idea why. It is really slow changing tabs, minimizing, maximizing etc.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Does the problem persist even in an incognito window? (ctrl+N)

What are your specs?
Are you using a lot of extensions?
Have you kept the browser or tabs open a long time?

No, the problem does not happen when in incognito. That's why I doubt it's a problem with my PC's specs.

It's likely that it is an extenstion that is causing the problem. How many do you have?

Try clearing browser cache,,click on th 3 bar icon on top right,select tools,then select "clear browsing data"

I have 2. I disabled the RT app and that has sped things up again.
