Good, Balanced PC?

Hi there, I was just wondering if this was a good, balanced build, with room for future upgrades for a budget of currently £1000-£1200.

I have a MSI Optix g24 monitor (1080p, 144hz, 1ms, amd freesync) This PC will only be for gaming for games like The last of us, cod, microsoft flight sim.

You're massively overspending on cooling mate the 5600 is a very very efficient chip that doesn't get all that hot

I've tweaked it to balance a little but with MSFS in mind you'd probably be better with a higher tier of CPU and 32GB of RAM. The 6600 is the perfect choice with 1080p in mind but the extra grunt in GPU power of the 6700XT would definitely help in flight sim. All this of course massively pushes the budget but Flight Sim is one of if not THE most demanding game on the market

Problem is the 6700XT is massively overpowered at 1080p so you'll not the most out of it for anything else. Awkward one to balance but this is where I'd land

With MSFS I would definitely opt for a much higher tier CPU. It's one of the few games where the CPU makes a huge difference. You would see a massive improvement from the 5800X3D. At the moment I think that's still the king of the heap, save for the new X3D chips (I've not seen a lot of FPS data from them from reliable sources though).

I wouldn't skimp here if MSFS is one of the true aims of the system. The above system would be ideal with a 5800X3D and a H100i cooler. If MSFS is more of an afterthought then it'll be fine for a bit of fun as is :)

It's pretty good. The obvious point you're overspending is on cooling: you can get away with much less for the 5600X. And I'd be inclined to spend more on the graphics card, given that flight sims and the Last of Us are very demanding, even at 1080p. An upgrade to the 6700 would be a good bet and would still be in budget (or very close to it!). Finally, get a better WiFi card if you need WiFi.
