Geoforce GT520M driver problems?

Hi all.
just received a new laptop, and suffering BSODs. Tech support advised updating the driver, but there seems to be an issue with doing this. Searching online it seems it's not just me with the problem.
The Nvidia site lets me download the latest driver, but it can't find the hardware! Does anyone have a fix they can offer please?
(It seems that the current OEM windows driver is up to date.) Roy

Update the GPU via the chassis manufacturer website. For example, if it's an Optimus II, go to the Clevo website. They probably won't have the latest driver, but it will be newer than the driver PCS provides. Then you should be able to update your GPU with the latest driver from Nvidia's website.

Thanks. It's an Enigma III, which I guess is Compal, but I can't find any exact match on their site.
The laptop model is BL211. I'd be grateful for any pointers here. Thanks Roy

If you are looking for drivers , i suggest you to use the program named "DriverIdentifier" , it's free and has very large database.

Thanks, have tried that but it says it is up to date too. Still awaiting tech response from pcs. They've had the minidump file for 3 days now. :( Roy

No mate in fairness they normally really good, can you remember who you sent the minidump to drop them an e-mail to see if they found anything. I had some issues and dealt with Matt he was really good he must have gone through around 10 - 12 minidumps over a two or three day period for me.

You could always try and download one of the archived drivers off Nvidias site it may just be an issue with the current driver your using.

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-uk

The link above goes to the archived drivers page try the one released prior to the one your using. I had an issue with the most current version of the driver Nvidia offer for my card a roll back sorted it out.

Tried that, and after the download, it cannot find the graphics hardware.
I gave it a week and sent a reminder to Jack and Wayne, who each took a call from me. Still heard nothing, which seems rather odd to me.

If your happy to take a look mate you can get freeware software that enables you to read the minidump files. Google Bluescreenview i was taking a look at some of mine just to see if i could see anything specific causing it. Theres some good tutorials about what to look at aswell, im nosey so wanted to take a look, just thought it might be worth mentioning if you wanted ago.

Otherwise give tech support a call and ask them whats causing the bluescreens unfortunately thou not all minidumps clearly identify whats causing the issue.

Thanks, but tried that. It just won't recognise the hardware. Finally heard from tech support, and they said to do a clean instal of windows! I'm not over the moon about that, but they want that done before collecting it.
The third chap I spoke to (at tech support) also says that laptop drivers are different, and won't update at Nvidia, so I've wasted quite a lot of time even trying. Ho hum!

Did you actually try the Verde drivers from teh link I posted? I updated my laptop graphics driver with it. You need Verde driver rather than the normal Nvidia one as teh normal Nvidia one will give you an error about hardware not being found.

Yes, and just tried again, to be totally sure. It says' X Invidia Installer cannot continue' ' The graphics driver could not find compatible hardware'.
Looks like a clean instal then, but not keen on losing the progs set up. It's only 2 weeks old, and I don't really relish setting it up again. Thanks anyway.

Ended up doing a clean instal last night, and even installing one of the drivers it crashed. There are 3 unrecognised bits of hardware, and the drivers won't instal, and it can't find the CD driver file location for the wireless network driver.
My guess is that it will be back in the box today. It's a reddy nuisance, but at least I haven't lost any work on it, because I haven't been able to trust it. Lost loads of time tough. :(

All boxed up awaiting collection, so hopefully better news to report soon. My thanks to Paul Harison for getting back to me quickly as the first 2 tech support guys disappeared off on leave or something for a week, and left me high and dry.

Well it arrived back at 2pm today, and by 2.08 crashed twice again just the same. New RMA for collection again next week. Not good so far, so let's hope the after sales service is good as people say. So far in 3 weeks, I haven't had one proper day's use out of it. :(
