Gaming/Video Editing Rig?

I posted this in my newbie thread but I'm hoping to get some more feedback. This PC will primarliy be used for HD video editing (Sony Vegas Pro runs like a 3 legged dog on my current build) as well as playing some of the newer games, mostly Battlefield 3, on at least medium settings.

No set budget as I'll most likely be getting it on finance unless I win the lottery, but the current price is working out roughly £30 a month.

Pretty good spec mate. You would be better off getting a Caviar Black HDD - faster and more reliable. What does your total wattage come to? May be worth upping the wattage of your PSU to have more flexibility for upgrading and adding extra components in the future.

Sounds good, I'll switch to the 500GB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD5002AALX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 32MB CACHE (7200rpm), I've got a 500Gb WD drive on my current PC which I can use for file storage if needed.

The current wattage is only at 509W with the current spec, so should have more than enough for the second hard drive

Why did you pick the i7 960 over the i7 2600? My suggestion would be to opt for the newer sandybridge CPU.

Get the 750Gb caviar black for the extra £5. It has double the cache and you can't really go wrong with 250Gb storage for a fiver?
