Gaming PC Spec

Hi I'd like someone to take a look and address anything I may have missed.

Purpose: Gaming
Budget: £1850 approx
Monitor: 1080p (with the possibility of 1440p in the future)

A couple of concerns out the gate.
I've heard my chosen processor runs quite hot. Is the cooler good enough?
Also PCS website says that the cooler may have to be front mounted. My chosen case already has front mounted fans so are there issues that can arise from this?

Many thanks.

I reckon you can get much better for your money with quite a different system, based around an AMD CPU rather than an Intel one. This will be more efficient, cooler, just as strong in performance, and better value. This system will substantially outperform the one you have there. It will also be more upgradable over its lifetime.

Case
FRACTAL FOCUS 2 ARGB GAMING CASE (BLACK) Good case
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 7700 Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.3GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) Plenty of CPU for most gaming scenarios. For £94 you can upgrade to the 7800X3D, which would be of benefit in some games and some scenarios
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (DDR5, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) Moving onto DDR5 memory
Graphics Card

16GB AMD RADEON™ RX 7800 XT GAMING - HDMI, DP - DX® 12 Much stronger graphics card. Overkill for 1080p, but superb for 1440p
1st M.2 SSD Drive

512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
4TB CORSAIR CORE XT MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 5000 MB/R, 4400 MB/W)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
DeepCool AG400 Performance ARGB CPU Cooler Plenty of cooling for the 7700 or 7800X3D
Thermal Paste

STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

You can then spend the money you save on a much better keyboard! As for the HDMI cable: you should use DisplayPort if you possibly can. If your monitor doesn't support it, that's all the more evidence you need a new monitor....!

Just to point out, the above is suited to 1440p, it would be a tragedy to stick to 1080p for more than a few months, just wasting the GPU.

And the other thing to mention is that the cost of that build could be brought down further to make buying a new monitor easier if it was helpful.

Thanks for the input, that all makes sense. I'll also get myself a better keyboard and then early next year a 1440p monitor. (y)

Just a pointer, it's Black Friday shortly on the 24th November and Amazon do offers on a lot of monitors where you can pay in 5 installments without having to take out any credit, makes it far more affordable. You'd be looking at £300 - £500 for a suitable monitor so that would be around £60 a month or so over 5 months.

There is also a couple of Prime days coming up with similar deals to look for and again with 5 x monthly payments.
