Gaming on laptops, Little help would go along way

So problem i have is this, I cannot spend a ton of money on a computer just yet, My 21st is coming up in september, christmas is not far after it and ive just finished Uni.

Id like to know what the going specs are for gaming, Now that Uni is over im looking towards buying a laptop (already have a gaming pc, i7 , 2 2gtx cards, 16gb ram etc). Never have problems with gaming at home but my old laptop (not to make fun of or anything) is worce than a p4 and gets never used.

As uni is done, Job hunting begins and also money from everything over the next 4 months should be substanshal.

So what am i asking, Ive looking into this fairly decently, The best going card for most gaming laptops i can find is a 255 M and a 240M, Keep in mind this, i have no job and jobs hard to come by at the moment, Even with degrees etc. It sucks :(

Is there a way to pay over months and not get charged 2x the price for it? i saw somewhere on here that you can do 12 months and pay hardly anything over the price it costs? but for something of 500 over 2 years hit you with a 800 price tag.

So.....

What should i be looking to get, I want something that can play things fairly well on the go as i feel that having free time gone and earning money, id look towards traveling to things such as Pax, Games com etc so gaming with friends or on the go seems appealing to me.

Im not looking to buy some over powered comp that ****s on everything without trying, High grapics with a good frame rate on things like BF3 (coming) would be nice.

If anyone would take some time and help me out id give you a big hug (no homo)

thanks.

Im not good with laptop graphics but i think the 15.6 optimus II with a 2.3ghz i5 in it would be might be able to run with a few settings on high but not many as it recommends a quad core (you'll also want 4gb of ram) . which will be at like £700. and the bottom i7 quad in a laptop is the 2.0ghz at around £750. But i dont know what ghz of a quad it wants so 2ghz is probs med/high still and a 2.2ghz i7 will throw the price up to £850ish.
So i would say if you want to play games like bf3 on high on a laptop its going to cost the best part of £1k but if you stick to around £500 it will be low/med graphics and 700 will be inbetween. However, if you were going to get a laptop i would recommend here very highly. My bro is on his 3rd laptop (from dell, sony and now a mac -___- god rest his soul :p) since i got this one and mine is still running strong. and seeing as this cost me £700 at the time and my bros been through around £2000 in laptops i would never doubt getting a laptop from here again.

Thanks for the heads up, If found this the best website to get stuff from, More to the point i can save myself 100 pounds without an operating system and get one though Uni for free. What i would like to know is this

i3 vs i5 (really not wanting i7 if need be)
540 m vs 555 (or is it 550) cards
