Gaming Mice (which one should I buy?)

Hey guys, so I was thinking of buying a gaming mouse finally and I have narrowed down my choices to five. I have never owned a gaming mouse before despite playing PC games for around 6 years. So basically what I was looking for in a mouse is the one with the best and most accurate sensor, also one with the most adjustable DPI. I play FPS and MMO games but I find the mouse is more essentail for FPS so I would prefer a mouse more suited to this gameplay. I'm not to worried about the ergonomics of the mouse as I will mostly be using a claw grip. However I don't give a **** about the aesthetics side of it, I see the mouse just as a practical device not merely for display. So here are the links to the 5 mice I have chosen:

Any feedback at all would be much appreciated.

But does anyone know which has the best sensor? I have read that the deathadder is supposed to have the best Razer sensor. The G9x and G500 I was assuming had the same sensor and was just different in aesthetics. The logitech seems to have really good dpi control as well. So I would love to know which has the best sensor.

Shocking, you dont have the best Razer on there. Razer Mamba for the win :)

sensor is amazing on it, over 5000 dpi, amazing polling speeds too. Can be wired or wireless depending on what mood you feel in I guess. Good charge stand, For em its perfect wieght too. They jsut relased a 2011 model which I believe has an even higher DPI (the one with the green light on mousewheel).

I would reccomend the Mabma to anyone anyday.

agreed. there new razer model has the new dual 4g sensors. but if you want buttons with still a good sensor then it would be the lachesis. mamba ftw still :p

Mx518 with steel series QcK cloth mouse pad. Best combination ever for FPS gaming and for MMO if you don't need lots of buttons.

I'd love to get the Razer Mamba because it can glow green, that will be the colour of my setup, but they dont have any keyboard that go green :( Well not the one i want anyway... Razer Lycosa = Blue, not green.

Tim = Sad. lol

The Razer DeathAdder is a great gaming mouse and for the price its as good as you can get. I have it set to 1800dpi and that is soo responsive, sometimes too responsive as I'm still getting used to it! :)

I got mine for £43 which is great value considering the quality, the Razer Mamba would cost you more than twice that, so depends on your budget. When it comes to value/quality/gaming the DeathAdder wins hands down IMO.

Note that ANYTHING above 1600dpi is completely undetectable in difference.

So finding the best "accuracy" isn't going to help you at all, What you need to know is the type of grip you prefer / are best with. Razer mouses are more of an aggressive grip where as logitech are more smooth / relaxed

Um why would you even say something like that?

It is easily detectable, all the way from 0 to whatever you like. You may be referring to polling speed that is undetectable, which id say anythign about 60Hz (or whatever your screen is running at) is probably the limit.

As for dpi, the higher the dpi the less you have to move your mouse for the same distance on screen. 5000dpi is always going to be more sensitive than 4500dpi etc. I personally have mine on about 4000dpi, makes it easier to work across 3 screens too.

Didn't really fancy the mamba, I'm not a fan of wireless mouses at all. I know there is no response time difference between something like the mamba or the DA but in my head I still think it. You've all been very helpful on giving your personal views on the mice, but does anyone actually know the one with the best sensor? I seen a post mention 4G what exactly is that?

The new 2011 Mamba I belive has the best sensor currently on the market.

I know you said you dont like the wireless on mamba, however, you can wire the mamba in, mines wired at the moment, this lets you have the choice between wired and wireless, it also lets you charge the wireless while using it.

AFAIK: 4G just stands for "4th Generation", tha mamabe is 4G and uses 2 x 6400Dpi sensors, the old mamaba, the one I have, has 1 x 5600dpi sensor. Both are amazing.

Ah thats cleared it up a bit, does the Imperator not have the same sensor, I vaguely remember reading it somewhere?
