Looks good, only thing I would consider is changing second hard drive to a 750GB Scorpio Black,it's smaller but faster, not essential though.

If its just for gaming you could reduce your RAM to 8GB this will save you about 40 buck and can be upgraded if you ever need to but 8GB is more than enough for gaming at the moment.

You could get rid of the SSD and just go for a 7200RPM HDD instead, i use that in mine and I find it very fast in comparison and also SSD is something you could add at a later date if you wanted.

Thanks for your help. :)

Out of interest, what are the main differences between the Vortex and the Optimus chassis?

I think you are able to upgrade the gpu on the vortex but not the optimus. Backlid keyboard on the vortex and the choice of better GPUs GTX 770m/GTX780m.

I ended up tweaking the spec as suggested, replacing the 1TB 5400 RPM disk with a 750GB 7200. :) Everything else as is though. The Vortex was unfortunately pushing the budget a bit. :p
