Gaming case and graphics card.

I'm not a huge fan of the big bulky unattractive gaming cases, would any of the cases on offer that look more for standard desktops be ok for a gaming pc?

Also which graphics card:
1) 1GB ATI RADEON™ HD 5850 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11
2) 1GB ATI RADEON™ HD 5870 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11
3) 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX460 GDDR5 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11

GTX 460, although i'd go for the slightly OC'd 2GB version

Go for the 2gig GTX 460

It's only £16 more than the 1 gig version.

It's between the 5870 & GTX460.

The 5870 is the more powerful, more expensive graphics card of the two and should perform better in most gaming applications.
The GTX460 will offer better value for money and will still perform brilliant in any game you throw at it!

In regards to the cases, the standard cases will be fine - are you looking at the Coolermaster Sileo 500/ Elite 310 something like that?
