Front fan color controls?

Hi, Just setting up my new PC and couldn't resist trying to play with Fan colours.

The cooler has LEDs, as do the cooler's fans and these are obvious to control in the Corsair iCUE app.
The mother board then has 3 "Back plate" leds which works, and 2 RGB headers which do nothing when I try those.
Then there are 3 fans on the front of the case - which light up with colours, but I cannot find a way to control those. I'd thought maybe that would be the motherboard's headers but they do nothing when I change them. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

If it’s not a Corsair case with Corsair fans then they won’t be controllable via iCUE.

You’d need to either use Armoury Crate (i.e. your motherboard’s software), or one of the ‘open’ RGB control softwar options.

Unfortunately Armoury Crate & iCUE don’t play well together.

Nice system (y)

There are some open source alternatives to the manufacturer solutions that tend to play nicer with lots of different manufacturers as @TonyCarter says.

The two options that some of our members use are OpenRGB and SignalRGB, they may take a little getting used to but are both well supported and updated.

I'd avoid Armory Crate where you can, aside from issues with RGB, it can cause system instability.

Oh well! (kinda wish they had said at build time to give the option to change - I spent some time checking the motherboard would work with ARGB, and was going to get a PCS cooler but was suggested to get corsair one) Not the end of the world - The aesthetics are a nice to have but it's the function I want more!

Thanks!

Thanks - will try one of those

You could replace the case fans with corsair fans and wire them into the commander core that comes with the cappelix cooler, then you could control them through Icue, some explanation in this post
