An i7-4700 should be fine. It will take a while for GTX 800 to be release in laptops and you are likely to have to pay a premium for it.

I'd agree with Keynes, as said on here a few times, if you wait for the 'next best thing' you'll be waiting forever because there is always something new on the horizon The 700series cards are excellent!
