First Time Build setup advice/help

Hey,

I'm in the process of trying to buy a solid gaming rig setup from PC Specialist, budget £600-£800

Basically wanted to know how this build is, do you see any problems here, would you change anything etc? advice greatly appreciated

CPU: Intel Core i5 Quad core processor i5-6500 (3.2GHz) 6MB Cache

Motherboard: ASUS H110M-D D3: Micro ATX, LG1151, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs

Memory (RAM): 8GB Kingston DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (1x8GB)

Graphics Card: 4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960-DVI, HDMI, 3 x DP

Processor Cooling: Super quiet titan dragonfly heatline intel cpu cooler (is cooler necessary?)

Power Supply: Corsair 450W VS Series

Monitor: ASUS VE247H 24" LED DISPLAY

Keyboard: ASUS Cerberus Gaming Keyboard

1st Hard Disk: 250GB SAMSUNG 850 2.5" EVO SSD, SATA 6Gb/s

2nd Hard Disk: 1 TB SATA- III 3.5" HDD, 6Gb/s, 7200 RPM

Dont really understand, about the hard disks part. Would the 250GB SSD be fine by itself and if i did have two hard disks how would this work, would the computer just show two hard drives, kinda confused.

Also, any recommendations for a case also, i have no clue how cases affect the build and therefore no idea on which one to choose or does it even matter much

Advice greatly appreciated

Hi,

What is your intended use and how hard might you be working the computer?

There may be some tweaking we can recommend if you can provide a list of programs/games you will be looking to use.

The intended use for it is Gaming mainly, other than that, just some light computer work for University (Microsoft office)

Im new to the pc gaming scene, this will be first gaming setup. Anyway, games i'l be looking to play are CSGO, H1Z1, RS, Ovewatch as of right now, however may branch out to new games later, but im not really after the super-intensive graphic type games.

Cheers

The OS would be in the first drive (SSD) and the second drive, if you add one, is for storage. Whether or not you need one depends on how much space you require.

Any +£40 would do. Cheap ones do not offer good cooling

yes, the standard cooler is not very good
Power Supply: Corsair 450W VS Series
you may want to consider a 550w to have more room for upgrades

ok thanks, i might consider getting just the 250GB SSD or 500GB SDD then just so everything is in one place. can always buy an external hard drive if i feel i need more storage i guess.

Yeah, i've heard the VS Series is low entry level for gaming. i may change to the CS Series possibly now. Cheers
