First PC ordered - are the fans OK?

Hello everyone! I have ordered my first ever PC from PCSpecialist a few days ago, and I was wondering if the spec I've come up with is good, most importantly if the cooling will be enough with the following spec. To my understanding, the case comes with 3 fans pre-installed already. Should I amend my order to add one extra fan?

Any other advice on the spec is also welcome!

(Note: I own a 1440p 144hz monitor already which I will be using with this PC - perhaps I should upgrade my monitor to really do this build justice?

Hi there,
Pretty solid spec, but I would recommend some changes while it’s still in pre production to get a bit more bang for your buck. You can make amendments at no extra cost or without losing your place in the queue up until your PC goes into building.

To help us make these recommendations, please could you post the full config, as well as let us know your budget, use cases for the PC, and the monitor that you’re pairing this with?

I have updated my post with the full config and monitor.

My budget is pretty much as far as this build goes, this one was priced at 1660£, and was already slightly above my budget which I would say is around 1500£. Therefore, I wouldn't opt for big upgrades from this point on. I'm more concerned with having this current build run as efficiently as possible, therefore the question about cooling.

The biggest use will be gaming. I play a lot of MMORPGs and had my eyes on getting Cyberpunk 2077 and RDR2 for a while. Might pick up Metro Exodus while it's on sale too, so I'd say few of the games I plan to play require decent systems. I want to be able to keep the PC running as cool as possible over long gaming durations.

I would do the following (without knowing exactly how it affects price!):
  • Downgrade the GPU to the 3070. The Ti option adds little for much more money.
  • Upgrade the cooler, probably to the H100i or the H115i as they're more reliable, quieter, and easier to control.
  • Upgrade the WiFi card to the AX200 one as it's much more modern.
  • If you have budget left, upgrade the power supply to the RM850x to give room for future upgrades as well as quieter and more efficient operation.
Personally, I'd also want to have a separate boot SSD, rather than running both Windows and the games off the same drive. The biggest advantage is when you come to reinstall Windows, where you will avoid having to re-download all your games! But that will probably add significantly more cost than the others and it may be an upgrade you can do later in the day...

Thanks so much for the input, I'll give it a thought while the order's still processing.

I do have one question: Do you guys know if they fit in an exhaust fan at the rear by default? I couldn't see it explicitly mentioned in the config so I was wondering if I'm meant to add 1x extra case fan to make sure that will be done?

If you want one, you'll need to add it. You don't need it, though, as the AIO will act as an exhaust.
