Hoping to get this for Christmas, gonna use this for causal and mid-high gaming, is this overkill? Or just good enough. Budget is £1,340.

For 1080p for about £1350 this should do you nicely! I'd also personally look into the AOC 24G2U instead of the C24G1

But since the monitor can’t handle the 1440p, should I go for a 1660 Ti (GTX)? Also I’ll go for that monitor you suggested

Going for the 3060TI wouldn't make any sense for your budget or monitor. You'd be making insane sacrifices to other parts of the build to keep the 3060TI. If you've got more money to spend, I'd recommend putting it into other places to give you a more solid base (PSU, cooling, storage)

The 3060TI also gives way more performance than 1080p will ever need. For reference 1080p is about 2 million pixels, 1440p is almost double that at 3.6 million- which the 3060TI does a fantastic job at. If you could add the price of the 60TI and another £100 for a better monitor, sure! But for 1080p the 60TI doesn't make any sense- it trades blows with the 2080TI!

Do you have exactly £1,339 to spend? For the extra £40 or so I'd highly recommend splurging the extra, there's not that much we could take away from that spec to make it much cheaper that I'd personally advise doing

For an extra £6 you could go from a 1660TI to a 2060 which gives on average 12% more frames at 1080p. Seems pretty worth it to me

It only comes in at £1,530 in total with this monitor. If you can't make the stretch and have a hard cap of £1,500 should come in under the £1,500 budget. I've effectively swapped the 2 drive layout for a 1 drive layout. There's now just a single speedy 1TB NVME SSD which should be enough to get you going, although you may find yourself needing to add to it down the road.

You can't just fit any case to a build, it has to match the specs.

the case is hugely important to the airflow through the system. A poor case leads to overheating and instability.

That case you've configured above is for very low end builds that don't use a lot of power, it's not at all sufficient for the level you're trying to reach.

If you don't need wifi then you need to mention that as we'd configure it by default.
