First PC for Child - Feedback please

So a couple of years ago, I bought myself a very nice PCSpecialist PC and have been happily gaming with it.
More recently I find it more and more to detach my 10 & 12 year old children from it, as the relatively old laptops they have for schoolwork can't throw polygons around to their satisfaction.
So I'm looking to invest in a budget gaming PC to keep them at bay.
Budget is ~£1,000 & the Monitor would be a relatively old 1080 (but I'm sure we'll upgrade to 1440 at some point)

Not sure why it's saying 0.00 as a price, but it was quoted at £1,057 incl. VAT

I'd suggest going down the AMD Ryzen 5000 route as it offers a better budget platform. (The CPU is outperformed by the 13400F, but the motherboard is way better and the value is much better.)

Agree with the above. There won't be a lot in it performance wise between the chips but you have a good option of upgrading to the 5800X3D should the gaming wants become higher. The Intel option has too many sacrifices to be worthwhile.

Another consideration for you is using the laptops to stream from said PC(s). You can use Sunshine and Moonlight to stream the desktop to the laptop if the network is reasonable. This is how I do all of my gaming other than VR (Not on laptop, but I stream to various media boxes using Moonlight).

Even if you got the PC, it would give them both the opportunity to game across both systems using their laptops with the PC as the grunt.
