Firefox is already running but is not responding

Hi

For about 5 weeks I am getting the following message 1 to 3 times a day: "Firefox is already running but is not responding"

It is a random error, when I try to click on a web link on my windows 7 desktop or task bar link.

My PC is 1 year 10 months old.

I have to click close firefox for the new firefox window to open.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding

I have tried deleting the firefox data folder & reinstalling firefox. This has not provided a solution to the problem.

Can any one help

thanks

Jonathan

Try disabling all extensions and see whether it still happens. The problem is most likely an extension that prevents FF closing properly.

I'd try temporarily disabling all those plugins (if you can - I don't run FF). You could also try starting FF in safe mode (which disables add-ons) see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/k...e?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Safe+Mode.
