microsoft updateed the fingerprint driver software last night

now it doesn't recognise my finger and is in an endless loop of the
icon going red, blue, red, blue...... etc

it states the quality of fingerpint is not good enought but it does not stop cycling
through the colours even 20 minutes after i stop scanning my finger

if i switch user to type the password it continues to 'cycle' and moves away from the password screen.

it makes it hard to login

is it possible to go back to the original fingerprint driver?

can i just undo the update? there was a lot of updates done at the same time.
if so how in win 7?

can i just undo the one update or do i have to undo all of them.

or can i simply get the original driver disc and re-install
it or do i have to un-install it first.

does win 7 make this sort of thing easy?

i found out about rolling the driver back, never had to do that before.

that solved the issue.

thanks

I've got this same problem, and unfortunately it's in windows 8, windows 8 installs the latest drivers by default, and hence I can't roll back... I know the scanner works ok cos it worked in windows 7, I also tried the updated drivers in windows 7 and found they had the same problem as the original poster... Has anyone managed to get this to work correctly in windows 8?? It's like it's not

I had exactly the same issue, go into device manager and roll the driver back for this device! Just ignore any updates for now, otherwise you will keep having the same problem :)

Haha sorry I just read further down and saw you sorted it :)
