Finally bit the bullet and ordered, this is the spec.

Well after much changing and tweaking I finally hit the button. I was hoping to build it myself but after days and days of trying to get a GPU I gave up. Need a 1440p 144Hz monitor to go with it and plan on adding a Noctua NH-D15 cooler pretty much straight away.
Does anyone know if the lead time on a 3070 is less than 3060 ti?

I should have added, it'll mostly be used for gaming with a little engineering drawing and some analysis... but mostly gaming and as a PLEX server. I had posted a spec previously but it's changed a bit so I thought I'd just post the new one.

Looks like a very solid build indeed. My only points would be (a) that the extra fans are probably unnecessary: the airflow in the 5000D is excellent; and (b) to suggest that you reduce the SSD to 500GB and get a PCS 1TB one as your main storage for games and files.

I've 1x 4TB and 2 x 2TB Seagate Barracudas that have all my movies on that can be installed. Not the fastest drives I know but they should suffice for just now. Down the line I plan to add in some more SSDs once I pay off this build.

If those HDD drives are just for movies that you're keeping, there's no real point in moving them over to SSD as that medium gains no benefit of being on a faster drive :D

Yeah I'll likely keep the HDDs for movies at least and add more SSDs for games, can never have too much storage.

Good to know, cheers!
In fact thinking about it, i'd drop the Firecuda to 500GB and pop a 1TB PCS M.2 in as a secondary high speed drive, that way you can the OS on the firecuda & your games on the PCS M.2, so if you ever have to clean install the OS you don't need to download all your games as well

I see your thinking though kinda thinking of keeping the M.2 slot free and adding another 1TB drive in 6 months or so.

Out of curiosity, how do you change the configuration of the order? Does it take an email?
