looks like a great build to me - you will be breezing trough most games with this in ultra settings & 60fps , only 2 that wont run at 60fps maxed out would be battlefield 3 & witcher 2 ( fps probably will be lower in these 2 , but thats it , will still be more than playable )

As for the i5 you have chosen i have the older (sandybridge i5 2500k - stock 3,30ghz) ( "k" just means its unlocked for overclocking ) & i run everything maxed out & 60fps , so being that the one you have chosen is the newer version - it should be better than mine , so i cant see any problem with this at all - should be great !!

my advice is to leave it as it is , a very capable gaming rig - looks great hope you enjoy it when its built

Sorry was in the middle of editing post when i relised that that mobo doesnt seem to do SLI anyway ( so i changed the post )

I think you will be very pleased with the gaming performance indeed , i doesnt get much better than what you have , you have the best single gpu on the market , a very good processor & a decent PSU , the only way you can get more is by SLI / crossfire , but i dont think this is neccessary as like you said your not after extreme gaming specs,

Kind of ironic though as its quite hard core in my opinion .

Hope you have lots of fun with it

looks good, personally i'd get the mobo one notch up, as it supports pci3.0, and ya 680 uses pci3.0 (it would run fine on pci2.0 slots, but may not do to full capacity, the pci3.0 offers a higher level of bandwidth. Its not 100% needed but I certainly would.

i'd also consider getting a set of homeplugs, as send the internet through ya house wiring giving you a constant booming connection with no drops outs. :) a quick google will give you loads of info about them, wireless is great but in my opinion for a gaming pc a solid wired connection would be best.

is it the p8z77-v pci-e you are suggesting to go with?

Yes, it does cost a little more, however, I certainly would if I was ordering now. :)

another personal preference of mine, note that its totally not neededBut I would opt for a slightly better case, such as the cm690 II, you can read about it here. That's just my personal preference :)

Ordered.

thanks to yous both. I went with the better mobo. I never bothered with the homeplugs, as my internet seems to be good anywhere in the house and even outside, we have 2 PC's a mac, 2 ps3's and an ipad always on the go at the same time and the signal always seems to be good between them all.
