I have been a follower of this forum for a long while and am hoping you can help with some feedback / advice on the below spec. Laptop will be used for gaming (Football Manager 2018, Sims, City Skylines, GTAV, Witcher 3 (if possible))

Looks good and should perform well in all of those titles.

You might get the 2400MHz RAM if the price difference is modest. FM likes faster RAM from what I have seen.

You should check out Open Office, which is a free and open source office package. It actually has more software than just the basic MS Office packages, and is compatible with common formats like .doc, .xls etc.

Hi Oussebon,

Thanks for the quick response and feedback.

They do not seem to offer the Consair Vengeance 2400 as an option on the Proteus 15.6 build.
They do have it with the Defiance 17.3 build. How much difference do you think it will make, as I could get the same spec as above but on the Defiance 17.3

Even for FM the difference going from 2133MHz to 2400MHz would be relatively small. Probably worth it for a few quid but I wouldn't buy a much more expensive chassis over it (and the Defiance is quite a bit more expensive I think?)

I give a cautious thumbs up to LibreOffice - especially now you can optionally enable a ribbon bar to make it look more Office 2007+ like.

However I say cautious as it's fine for the odd document here and there but if you work with anyone sending you Office docs on a regular basis (especially things like macro enabled Excel files or fancy Word documents) you may find it struggles with compatibility.

I mean, even versions of Office can struggle with inter-compatibility so...
