fat boy coolit grinding noise

The cpu cooler started making a grinding noise today....similar to this:

Called technical support and getting a replacement tomorrow, excellent customer service as usual. I have never fitted a liquid cooler before so it is going to be an exciting day tomorrow.

I have a problem, I can't take the backplate of the CPU cooler out unless I remove the motherboard out of the case.


I am replacing the coolit fatboy with the h80i, Tom mentioned that the backplate should be similar between those two models but I haven't received it yet.

It's easy to do mate, just take your time and make sure you're grounded

Clean off old thermal paste yadayada.

Yes you were right. Took longer than expected but no more grinding noise.

Very efficient indeed, nice brand new cpu cooler
Corsair link is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than asus suite to monitor/alter fan speed.

Quiet, I can only hear the chassis fans and corsair link allows you to control/monitor the fan speed and temperatures.
