Extremely paranoid about my temperatures.

Posted more than once about this... But it's worrying me, so.

My GTX 675m is hitting 90 degrees on AC3 and the new Hitman game, as well as games like BF3 and Crysis 2.

Repasting, cleaning, no bottom lid, laptop cooler... Nothing seems to lower the temps, and well, I'm afraid my card's lifespan is going to cut out on me before I'm able to purchase another.

Does the PCS warranty cover replacement GPU's if the card "burns itself" out? Never overclocked, only underclocked.

If you got silver warranty it should cover a replacement for a year. Have you try contacting technical support?

You underclocked your card? Not sure if that is 'ok' really lol.

Have you gotten in contact with PCS regarding this before you repasted the GPU (and only used a small amount of paste!)? They might be able to give you some info on whether this is 'normal' for a GPU or not (I'd guess not though, 90 deg is pretty high!).

But yes any warranty should cover it if it burns out!

I would have thought underclocking would be okay... As the temperatures were like it before, and I was trying to lower my temps. That's not harmful to a card, right? I've pasted before, but it just didn't help this time round.

I haven't contacted anyone yet as the internet is pretty... divided on the severity of the temperature. And my telephone line is "down" as it were, would prefer a forum response to save me a hefty bill on my mobile.

changing the clock will likely make it less stable whether thats increasing or decreasing the clock speeds

The GPU will automatically clock its self down to around 50MHz when idle and there will probably be a middle setting for the clock speed for light gaming or heavy video files, and if you change the clock speed, i think the GPU is now locked down to that speed and won't clock down when its not needed

You might be right :) - I'd email PCS for a more direct response if you cant phone.

Not sure about the temps myself though unfortunately. I'd have said 90deg was pretty high!
