expected speed on m2 1tb samsung PM691

Hi everyone

Just a quick one, got new laptop with m.2 1 terrabyte Samsung PM691.

Just rank CrystalDiskMark and the speeds seem very slow



Maybe I am wrong as I am new to benchmarking, but does that not seem low and if so does anyone know what sort of things to try to improve it?

Yeah to me that does seem slow - look at my signature to see my disk speeds. I have a mix of m2 (RAID 0 so read speeds will always be faster than a single disk), SATA SSD and SATA HDD.

I would, initially, check the drivers on your machine. Particularly the chipset drivers.

The PM961 is an NVMe drive, you will need to download and install the NVMe driver from Samsung.
