Ethernet cable extender?

I got my new desk today and my ethernet cable wont stretch to where it is, is there some cable or something i can get like an extension as i cant just get a longer wire as it goes under the carpet.

Yup, google finds loads. There are also a few results on Amazon, either get a connector (essentially a gender bender for the end of the cable and another cable) or an extension cable (which is really the same thing )

Yes,that should work,you wont need the coupler with the cables I linked to.
Depending on the length you want.

Lol I paid a penny for a 10m ethernet cable but that was on sale, just thought I'd let you know

Im sure amazon has them for about a quid, don't worry about quality, I've never had a problem with cheap-o ethernet cables

It will work but couplers and connectors introduce the possibility of noise on the Ethernet connection and that's not good for performance. It's way better to get one cable the length you need, even if that means paying that bit extra to have one made up specially.
