I bought my first PC Specialist computer over 20 years ago and have always been impressed with the service. When it came time for me to upgrade my music production laptop the choice was obvious. I'd opt for a custom PC Specialist build.
I've been using my Elimina Pro Series 16" for around a month now and I'm incredibly happy with the way it performs. Compared to my older laptop it's incredibly quiet even when running a plugin-heavy mixing session. Don't get me wrong, it's not silent but I am able to track a compressed vocal using a condenser microphone in close proximity to the laptop and it doesn't pick up the fan noise. The same certainly wasn't true of my previous laptop.
While the i7 isn't the flagship from intel I've yet to run a loaded VST instrument and plugin heavy production session to anywhere near breaking point. With the solid construction of this laptop, I am confident it will serve me a very long time. I generally aim for a 5 year service life out of a laptop, my previous PC Specialist build is still working fine at nearly 8 years and that one wasn't as highly spec'd or built as solid as this one. If this laptop isn't still serving me in some capacity in 10 years I'd be surprised.
